Trying to Change My Fate by Selling Musical Instruments

Who has ever felt bored or tired of their job after doing it for eight years?
I want to share a little story on my blog about my journey—how I left my office job after eight years and started my own business.

To begin with, I used to work at a private company called Victoryspace.
After eight years there, I decided to quit because I no longer felt comfortable, especially in my final year. There was a conflict with a coworker who had been secretly embezzling small company goods every week.

Rather than getting dragged into that situation or influenced by others, I chose to resign.

For about two months after leaving, I couldn’t find a new job. I applied here and there, but no company seemed to be hiring. Finally, I decided to return to my hometown in a small village in Cianjur, to live with my parents.

One day, I visited a childhood friend and that’s where I got an idea.
It turned out my friend, Usup, was a craftsman who made traditional musical instruments and guitars.

We talked a lot about his work, his income, and how he sold his products. Then I said to him,

“How about I help you sell your handmade musical instruments, Usup?”

He immediately replied,

“Sure, go ahead and sell them at a price you think is fair.”

That’s when I decided to start an online store called musik.camvictory.

With my background in the digital world, I slowly gained confidence to sell traditional musical instruments items that are quite rare in big cities and usually only sold locally. I tried to market them digitally so that I could reach more buyers and expand faster.

Of course, things didn’t go smoothly at first. It wasn’t as easy as I imagined.
But gradually, by the third month, my online store musik.camvictory made its first sale a set of Javanese gamelan and a Jaipong drum (kendang Jaipong).

At that moment, I felt truly happy and grateful.
Someone had actually placed an order and that was the beginning of my new journey.

Now, I’ve found success with my online store called musik.camvictory.
I hope my story can also be a motivation for all of you.
Don’t forget to visit my online store musik.camvictory!
